We looked for an intelligent device that could assist people and reduce panic on earthquakes; a device which will help us guide people to safe zones and help make the rescue process faster, more efficient and successful.
The product had to be small, but visible and resistant, it must have a very well distributed internal structure that could resist impacts. It also needed to have light indicators and a sound system.
September 19th is known in Mexico as a tragic day. In 1985 an 8.0 magnitud earthquake struck Mexico City in the early morning. The event caused serious damage to the city and deaths of at least 5,000 people. The same day in 2017 another earthquake struck Mexico City and surrounding states now reaching a magnitud of 7.1 according to United States Geological Survey (USGS). The complete number of deaths is still unknown, many of our friends and family members lost very close people.
The major cause of death dues to buildings collapsing. People inside buildings get trapped under rubble, where falling walls and floors may injure people to death. Besides, being unable to breathe may cause desperation.
How might we increase the number of survivors during an earthquake event?

Intrace works as an interior device able to assist in an earthquake event by alerting and guiding people to safety procedures instead of causing panic. If building collapses, Intrace will immediately send all captured information from inside the rooms to the Rescue Departments.
Information about inside the rooms can facilitate a faster and focused rescue plan coordination by rescue teams, without the need of searching blindly for people trapped under rubble.
Intrace makes possible to know the exact number of people trapped and their location.
